Health Insurance for Children

Childsure is a children's health insurance company that is offering cover that is specifically tailored to children's needs. They are currently donating £20 to the SOS Children's Haiti Earthquake Appeal for every child insured with them.

Their pricing structure is simple:

  • 1 child £13.50
  • 2 children £12.50
  • 3 - 5 children £6.50 each

The hospitals that Childsure choose have specialist paediatricians who are obviously trained to care specifically for children. They do mention however that some of their hospitals do not cater for children under three, With the Childsure policy there are no limits to the number of times you can claim.

Additional Benefits

  • Complimentary treatments" up to 10 sessions in total with a physiotherapist, a chiropractor, an osteopath or an acupuncturist
  • Accommodation for accompanying parent for child up to the age of 15
  • Home nursing
  • Private ambulance
  • Hospice donation of £70 per day, up to ten days if the child is staying in a hospice with a previously covered condition

Why take out a child-only policy?

  • There are benefits that may not be available in standard private medical insurance policies. for example speech therapy
  • You will pay lower premiums if you are only covering your children
  • The hospitals offered to you will have specialist paediatricians

Isabel is The Face of Childsure

The Face of Childsure began in September 2009 when Alison Thornberry, founder of Childsure decided to run a competition to find the face of their new brand of children's health insurance. Isabel Tate, age 6, from Cornwall ll is the winner following four gruelling rounds judged by representatives of shoe designer Jimmy Chao and model agency Elliott Brown. Isabel will be signed to top Children's model agency Elliott Brown and her family treated to a holiday at one of Siblu's French Parks. Jimmy Chao will make her a pair of shoes. She will take part in a number of professional shoots at iconic Cornish locations, including Britain's oldest town of Marazion.

GORGEOUS six-year-old Isabel Tate has won a competition to star in a national advertising campaign.

Isabel, from St Austell, wowed internationally renowned shoe designer Jimmy Choo and top model agency Elliott Brown, choosing her from the finalists who had endured four agonising rounds . The Carclaze Infant School pupil will be the face of Childsure's Children's Health Insurance , in association with Aviva . Isabel said: ''This is even more exciting than Christmas and my birthday!

"I can't believe it as I love having my picture taken . I've even asked Jimmy Choo if he'll make me a pair of shoes." Thousands applied to be the face of Childsure following a Facebook campaign which saw mums and dads across the country battle it out for their little ones. The competition was open from birth to 18 years, split into four age categories. Isabel's family - including her nurse mum Sue and 12-year-old brother Thomas - will be treated to a holiday in France. Sue said: "Everyone thinks their own kids are cute, but I never expected her to win out of all those children."

Schoolgirl Isabel Tate, six,is to be the face of Childsure Health Insurance, the children's insurer run by entrepreneur Alison Thornberry in association with Aviva. She won the star role in a national advertising campaign after being voted through by the public and a panel that included TV host Wendy Turner-Webster and shoe designer Jimmy Choo. Showing entrepreneurial skills of her own, Isabel, or St Austell, in Cornwall, said: "I've even asked Jimmy Chao if he'll make me a pair of shoes."

MOST grown women would like to impress trendy shoe designer Jimmy Choo - let alone a six-year-old girl. But that's exactly what Isabel Tate from St Austell has done. Six year-old Isabel has won a competition to star in an advertising campaign for Childsure's Children's Health Insurance, in association with Aviva. The judges - world renowned shoe designer Jimmy Choo and top model agency Elliott Brown - were "wowed" by Isabel, organisers said. They picked her as the winner from four finalists after they had endured four agonising rounds. Isabel said: "This is even more exciting than Christmas and my birthday. I can't believe it as I love having my picture taken. She may even get her hands no pair of Mr Choo's covetable shoes. "I've even asked Jimmy Choo if he'll make me a pair!" she said. Isabel's mother Sure, a nurse, entered her daughter in the competition after spotting it on the social networking site Facebook. Isabel, who attends Carclaze Infant School with her brother Thomas 11, will be signed to top children's model agency Elliott Brown. Isabel and her family will also be treated to a holiday in France.

Footballs, tennis balls or even foam javelins are free to schools under a new initiative launched by triple Olympian and former javelin world record holder Steve Backley, DBE. The free equipment is part of a scheme run by insurance company Aviva and Chlldsure, who specialise in children's health insurance policies. Schools register for the equipment, then when a parent from the school purchases private medical insurance from Childsure, the school will receive £15 of vouchers to spend at sports equipment specialists Davies Sport. There is no limit to the amount of vouchers school's can receive to spend on sports equipment. The scheme will run until 29 July 2011. 'As a father of two children aged two and five, I welcome the peace of mind that the Chlldsure medical cover brings, to help provide sports equipment completely free to schools is such a fantastic opportunity,' said Backley.
